Easter: Good Friday

Crucifixion ritual in the small village of Cutud in San Fernando city, 50 miles north of the capital Manila, Philippines. The day is a re-enactment of Christ's crucifixion on Good Friday. In total nine individuals [penitents] were nailed to crosses. However, Glaswegian Dominic Diamond did not go through with his intended crucifixion in front of thousands of spectators and world media. Hooded and half naked men can be seen in the act of self flagellation with bamboo whips on route to the crucifixion site. 14/04/2006
